Steve Bennett is Chief Science Officer at Demex. His career spans meteorology, risk management, and finance, with previous experience at Verisk, The Weather Channel, the Climate Research Division at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and the hedge fund Citadel.

Steve leads Demex initiatives to link climate change and extreme weather to financial risk transfer. He contributes to the development of Demex models, analytics, and reinsurance strategy. Steve is also Chair of the American Meteorological Society's Forum on Climate Linked Economics and has provided expert commentary on the financial implications of extreme weather for CNBC, Forbes, Bloomberg, Reuters, and other media outlets.

Steve holds a degree in Meteorology from the University of South Alabama and a J.D. from the University of Illinois Chicago’s School of Law.
