It seems like I’ve been doing a lot of “thank you” posts for The Demex team lately. Well, here’s another one!

Our team was recently surprised to learn that we have been recognized as one of the most exciting and innovative insurtechs by Insurtech Insights, the world’s largest insurtech community organization.

The Future50 Americas list was carefully curated from tens of thousands of candidates, with input and critical analysis from some of the most experienced and influential names in the industry. Produced by Insurtech Insights and Sønr, a leading market intelligence platform for the insurance sector, the Future50 judges hailed from some of the most highly regarded insurance companies worldwide, including: AON, Aviva, AXA, Bâloise, Bupa, FWD, Gallagher, Generali, Legal & General, MassMutual International, Munich Re, Nassau Financial Group, NN Life Japan, Royal London Group, Tokio Marine Holdings, Vitality, Willis Tower Watson, and Zego.

Judges and Process

Kristoffer Lundberg, chief executive officer of Insurtech Insights said, “We were blown away by the wealth of insurtechs to choose from. Thousands were nominated, and whittling them down wasn’t easy.” In the Future50 eBook, he went on to say, “This list shows how fertile the insurtech industry is, and how much change is currently going on in insurance. We think these companies will shape the insurance landscape for a long time to come.”

Insurtech Insights bases their rating system on The Sønr Index which evaluates millions of data points across the following criteria:

  • People: The key people across the business, taking in factors such as where they have studied, their past involvement with startups or notable companies, their known network, and whether they are considered experts in their field.
  • Product: Including the core tech stack of the business, patents they have registered, the customer problem they have overcome and any exceptional tech or experience they have created.
  • Performance: Growth metrics such as downloads, partnership, investments and traction. And other attributes including financials, market sizing and performance traction to date.
